Obituary of Barbara Thomas Andrews

CHARLOTTE, NC—Funeral services for Barbara "Bobbie" Thomas Andrews, 79, of Charlotte, NC formerly of West Columbia, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Green Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Russell Laird will officiate. Burial will follow in Sandy Bay Cemetery in Kingstree, SC. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Green Hill Baptist Church, PO Box 6276, West Columbia, SC 29171. Mrs. Andrews passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013. Born in Sandy Bay, SC, she was a daughter of the late B. Clifton Thomas and Lillie Coker Thomas. She was a long-time member of Green Hill Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 90, Ladies' Auxiliary. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving are her sons, Rick Andrews (Yvonne) of Lexington and Alan Andrews of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan, Christopher, Alexis Andrews and one great-granddaughter, Devona Moore along with a large and loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 37 years, Donald Frederick Andrews, Sr.; sisters, Hannah Mau, Nancy Wood, Thela Mae Hanf and Nell Reed; brothers, Burrie Thomas and Lucian Thomas. The family would like to express loving thanks and appreciation to the following cousins for their loving care and attention during Aunt Bobbie's illness; Cathy Reed, Karen and Carlos Casas, Susan Marie King, Barbie Wrenn, Steven Lake and Kevin Reed.
