Obituary of Mildred Jeanett Pridemore Williamson

LEXINGTON—A service to celebrate the life of Mildred Jeanett Pridemore Williamson, 84, of Lexington, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be David Williamson and the Reverend Julian Boles. A visitation for family and friends will take place Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Mildred, affectionately known as "Nana" to her grandchildren, was welcomed into the presence of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 30, 2013. Born in Blackwater, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ezra Daniel and Margaret Osborne Pridemore. She retired from Monroe Calculator Company in 1978. Mildred had an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoyed outside sales with Fine Arts Company and World Book Home Education Products. Mildred also possessed the heart of a servant, which was faithfully demonstrated at Ebenezer PHC where she taught the Primary I Sunday School Class for many years. She presented an idea for ministry to young girls after being inspired at a conference, and helped charter Pioneer Girls at Ebenezer. She also continued that service to New Hope Worship Center in Gaston, SC, where she was one of the charter members. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Joye Williamson Taylor (Randy), son and daughter-in-law, David Williamson (Robin) of Swansea; granddaughters, Reesa Taylor Boone of West Columbia, Adrienne Taylor Hutto of Swansea, Phyllis Renee Williamson and Caitlin Danielle Williamson of Columbia, Alyssa Victoria Williamson of Swansea and eight great-grandchildren; five sisters, Bonnie Tippey of Myrtle Beach, Shirley Sturkie of Lexington, Essie Fechter of Sarasota, FL, Alma P. Faucett and Rosa Lee Clowney of Union; three brothers, Carl Pridemore of Summerville, Earl Pridemore of Union and Bill Pridemore of Greer. She was predeceased by her first husband, Sam Williamson and second husband, Woodrow W. Williamson, Sr., her daughter, Phyllis Elaine Williamson, her son, Woodrow W. Williamson, Jr., grandson, Kevin R. Taylor and brothers, Carson and Robert Pridemore.
