Obituary of Ronnie R Varnadore

Funeral services honoring the life of Ronnie R. Varnadore, 68, of West Columbia, SC will be held at 11am Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington. Officiating will be the Reverend Lorenzo Davis III. Interment with military honors will follow in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday, July 8, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington. Memorials may be made to the youth group at Willow Ridge Church, 101 Sycamore Drive, Lexington SC 29073. Born in Pelion, SC on September 12, 1944, he was the son of the late Jimmy Wofford Varnadore and Wilhelmina Davis Varnadore. Mr. Varnadore was a member of Grace Baptist Church of West Columbia. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and hunting. He retired from Kline Iron and Steel and served his country proudly in the US Army. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kathleen Varnadore; daughters, Laurie Nesbitt Scott (Michael) of West Columbia, SC and Rachel Elizabeth Braxton of Cayce, SC; son, Opie Lee Varnadore of Missouri; sisters, Patsy Willingham (Will) and Phyllis Hudson (Willie); grandchildren, James Edward Jones (Jamie), Ryan Michael Scott, Dylan Raymond Braxton, Katie Noelle Scott and Grant Austin Scott. He is also survived by a numerous amount of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by sisters, Iris Brooks, Vivian Burnett, Faye Spires, Geneva Manus; brothers, Epting Varnadore, Clarence Varnadore, JW "Bubba" Varnadore, Turner Varnadore, Curtis Varnadore and Bobbie Gene Varnadore.
