Obituary of O'Merle Stewart

COLUMBIA-O'Merle Stewart, 94, of Columbia died Tuesday, July 30, 2013. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2013 in Greenlawn Memorial Park, officiated by The Reverend Paul Wollner. Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Preston and Effie Metze Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a longtime member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and had retired from SCE&G after 35 years of dedicated service. O'Merle was an avid golfer who thoroughly enjoyed the many golf courses from Columbia to Aiken. He was also a WWII veteran. He is survived by his loving daughter, Susan C. Stewart of Columbia whose unwavering faithfulness mirrors her Father's Love, and son, Thomas M. "Mackie" Stewart both of Columbia; "grandsons", Collin Moye and Baron Moye. He was preceded in death by his late wife of 58 years, Carol M. Stewart. Memorials may be made to Carolina Children's Home, 3201Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29204 or a charity of one's choice.
