Obituary of Marden A. Cunningham

ELGIN-Funeral services for Marden A. Cunningham, 70, of Elgin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Judy Brown. Burial will follow in Olympia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Allred, Terry Evans, Jr., Brandon Evans, T.J. Sharpe, John Sharpe, Matthew Tindal, Tyler Ledbetter and Stephen Beck. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the funeral home. Mrs. Cunningham passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2013. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Jesse James and Juanita Brunson Ellisor. She was a member of The Bible Church of God. Mrs. Cunningham was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Surviving are her daughters, Belinda Ledbetter (Tracy) of N. Augusta and Patricia Tindal (Johnny) of Elgin; son, Charles Allred of Swansea; sister, Frances Ellisor of Winnsboro; sixteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, John "Red" Cunningham and son, James Dewey Allred.
