Obituary of Dula Mae F. Brown

Mrs. Dula Mae F. Brown West Columbia-- Mrs. Dula Mae F. Brown, 81, of West Columbia, passed away on September 3, 2013 at her residence. Dula was a daughter to the late Willy Edward and Susan Jane Long Fowler. She was a native of Marion, SC, was a longtime member of Pineview Baptist Church and the Grace Sunday School Class. Mrs. Brown was a member of the local Eastern Star and greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching butterflies. Survivors include her sons, Roger C. (Carolyn ) Brown and Benjamin Edward (Cindy) Brown; brother, James Huston (Merdis) Fowler; grandchildren, Bradly Todd (Johanna) Brown, Petty Officer Third Class, USN Jacob Benjamin Brown, Rebekah Marie Brown, John Armando (Tracy) Alfaro, and Nicole Renee (Steve) Weagley; and a number or nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her late husband, Dennis C. Brown, parents, sisters and brothers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pineview Baptist Church, 3010 Leaphart Rd., West Columbia, SC 29169. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Pineview Baptist Church of West Columbia. Burial will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearer will be the Grace Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends Friday, September 6, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel.
