Obituary of Marvin Oliver Pickeral

COLUMBIA--Marvin Oliver Pickeral, 80, of Columbia entered into rest, Saturday, September 21, 2013 at his home. Born Saturday, July 8, 1933 in Gretna, VA, he was a son of the late Charlie W., and Eva (Keesee) Pickeral. Mr. Pickeral was a member of First Church of God, Columba and was a wildlife enthusiast. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Hollandsworth, Sr., and six siblings, Pauline Muse, Rodney, Jesse, Jerry, Sylvester and Darrell Pickeral. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruby (Shelton) Pickeral; daughter, Linda A. Baldwin (Jeff); daughter-in-law, Sue Harvey; grandchildren, Jerry Lee Hollandsworth, Jr. (Deborah Rhodes), Timothy Edward Hollandsworth, Ricky Haley and Jeffrey Baldwin, Cynthia Haley and Taylor Baldwin; great grandchildren, Ethan Edward and Cooper Reed Hollandsworth and Justin Bethea (Mary); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. An entombment service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
