Obituary of Peggy B. Welch

WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Peggy B. Welch, 80, of West Columbia, will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Pastor Clint Lawyer will officiate. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westside Baptist Church, 2100 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia, SC 29169. Mrs. Welch, beloved wife of the late Frank J. Welch, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Brady. She was a lifelong area resident and an active member of Westside Baptist Church and a member of Eastern Star. Surviving are her sons, Dempsey Welch (Helen) and Chet A. Welch; daughter-in-law, Denise Welch; 10 grandchildren, Frankie Ann Welch, JJ Welch, Dempsey Welch, Jr., Casey Welch, Brian Westmoreland, Vickie Westmoreland, Scott Westmoreland, Joshua A. Welch, Chet A. Welch, Jr., and Caleb W. Welch; 15 great-grandchildren and also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Frank J. Welch, Jr. and three brothers.
