Obituary of Vina Annette DuBois Johnson

CAYCE-Funeral services for Vina Annette "Ann" DuBois Johnson, 83, of Cayce, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013 at State Street Baptist Church. Reverend Dr. Tommy Pillow will officiate. Burial will be held at Ocean Woods Memorial Park, 2408 S. Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577, at 4:00 p.m. following the service. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bethany Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to State Street Baptist Church, 1420 State Street, Cayce, SC 29033. Ms. Johnson died Monday, September 23, 2013. Born in Myrtle Beach, SC, she was a daughter of the late O.C. and Lazelle Simmons DuBois. She was a longtime area resident. She was an active member of over 50 years at State Street Baptist Church and the Bethany Sunday School class. She was a graduate of Myrtle Beach High School and a member of the State Championship basketball team. She was caregiver to her friends and neighbors, loved her dogs but most of all loved her family. Surviving are her son, Chip Johnson (Laura); two grandchildren, Grayson Sumner and Ivey Sumner; and sister, Theta Alford; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Johnson and sister, Lyticia Wesner.
