Obituary of Mary Josephine Harms

Mary Josephine Harms, 89, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 25, 2013 at the Haven surrounded by her family. She was born August 24, 1924, in Traverse City, Michigan and was the daughter of the late Lawrence Juiliano and Gladys Faye Smith. Mary Jo proudly served her county in the United States Air Force. She worked for many years as a clerical assistant at Fort Jackson in the Procurement area. She was a former member of the Christ the King Lutheran Church and longtime resident of Christopher Towers. Surviving are her daughter, Catherine Stansill and husband, Robert of Columbia; sons, William D. Harms and David A. Harms and wife, Gail Hopkins; grandchildren, Jenny Sequi and husband, Scott, Danielle Harms, Jason Stansill and wife, Jennifer, Daniel Harms and wife, Olivia, Austin Harms and wife, Amanda and Addison Harms; great-grandchildren, Tyler Harms, Joy and Faith Wren, Parker Harms and Riley Stansill. Those who preceded her in death, late husband Glenn D. Harms. The graveside service will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11a.m. with military honors.
