Obituary of Sandra Williams Clark

COLUMBIA-Graveside services for Sandra "Sandy" Williams Clark, 63, of Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, with Pastor David Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Sandra loving wife, mother and grandmother went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 26, 2013. She was born in Augusta, Georgia on June 14, 1950 to the late Charles A. and Norma Dickerson Williams. She was a member of Elmwood Avenue Church of God. Sandy graduated from Columbia High School in 1969 and from Midlands Tech in 1983, with a degree in Human Services. Sandy was the first female school bus driver in the State of South Carolina. She loved to crochet and won many blue ribbons on her work. She was a lifetime member of the Art Guild. She loved to travel, cook and most of all be with her family. She is survived by her loving husband, James Kenneth Clark, Sr.; one loving daughter, Michelle Cassidy (Eddie) of Gaston; two step-sons, James Kenneth Clark, Jr. (Angela) of Clarks Hill, SC and Michael Bryan Clark of West Columbia; three brothers, M. Wayne Williams of Elgin, Cody D. Middleswart (Donna) of Marathon, FL and W. Joe Williams of Columbia; one sister, Nancy Kendall (Walter) of Gilbert; three grandsons, Jeremy Kendall, Cole Clark and Nathan Clark; and one granddaughter, Kaylen Clark. She is also survived by her best friend, Debbie Marshall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elmwood Avenue Church of God, 1427 Elmwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29201 or Faith Baptist Church, P.O. Box 177, Swansea, SC 29160. We would like to say a special thank you to all the nurses that cared for Sandy at Providence Hospital on the MCCU floor, Lauren, Meagan, Andrea, Katie, Missy and Shelby.
