Obituary of Noemi Carvajal Gonzalez

WEST COLUMBA-Noemi Carvajál González, 76, of West Columbia, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Born in Artemisa-Pinar del Rio, Cuba on August 8, 1937 to the late Damaso Carvajál and the late Maria Joaquina Moriyón, and immigrated to the United States in 1967 with her husband, the late Rev. Miguel Angel González. She was a retired home missionary with the Southern Baptist Convention and was involved with her church, Columbia World Outreach, until her last days. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, studying and teaching the bible, and was devoted to her family and the church. She is preceded in death by her late husband Rev. Miguel Angel González, Sr. and eight siblings. She is survived by her sons, Carlos (Anabelle) González, Sr. of West Columbia, SC, Juan (Regla) González of West Columbia, SC, Mike (Dawn) González of Columbia, SC; a daughter, Noemi González, Jr. of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Carlos González, Jr., Anabelle (Victor) Medina, Juan, David, Adrian, Regla, Jr., Noelle, and Reagan González; and great-grandchildren, Noah and Zoe González, and Eva, Elias, and Alyana Medina. She is also survived by her brother, Rev. Raynaldo Carvajál of Miami, FL. The celebration service for Mrs. Gonzalez will be held at 2:45, Wednesday, October 2nd at Columbia World Outreach Church, 523 Superior Street, Columbia with her son Rev. Mike González officiating. Graveside service will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. The family will receive friends from 1 o'clock until 2:45, Wednesday afternoon, at Columbia World Outreach. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Columbia World Outreach Church Missions.
