Obituary of Josephine DuBose Drake

Lexington—Funeral services for Josephine DuBose Drake, 86, of Lexington, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Rev. Dennis Banks of First Baptist Church of Columbia will officiate. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Drake, beloved wife of the late Harry William Drake, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. Born in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Joe Swaneville DuBose and Lottie Emily Ridgeway DuBose. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who lived a Christian life and witnessed for our Lord Jesus Christ. She was a lifelong area resident and an active member of First Baptist Church of Columbia. She retired from Stone Manufacturing. Surviving are her five children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and brother, Richard DuBose of Manning. She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.
