Obituary of James Albert Middlemiss

SWANSEA-A memorial service for James Albert Middlemiss, 69, of Swansea, will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Sandy Run. Pastor Barry Pruitt will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Sandy Run, 442 Livingston Road, Gaston, SC 29053. Mr. Middlemiss went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 13, 2013. Born in Lumberton, N.C., he was a son of Julia Bela Owens. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sandy Run. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Middlemiss was Past Master of the Gaston Masonic Lodge #382. Surviving in addition to his mother, Bela Murrow of N. Myrtle Beach; are is his loving wife, Mary Fayssoux Middlemiss of Swansea; daughters, Candy Shearin (Chris) of Gaston and Jami Middlemiss of Swansea; four grandchildren, Anthony Middlemiss, Michael Shearin, Tara Shearin and Carolina Middlemiss; four sisters, Pat Rieves (Dave) of Belhaven, NC, Ann Ogle (Eddie) of Spartanburg, Esther Webster (Ken) of Longs, SC and Ellen Thompson (Quinn) of N. Myrtle Beach; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Elliott.
