Obituary of Jean Baer DeLoach

IRMO—A graveside service for Jean Baer DeLoach, 88, of Irmo, was held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in Greenlawn Memorial Park, conducted by the Reverend David Setzer. Mrs. DeLoach died on Monday, October 21, 2013. She lived in Columbia all of her life, graduating from Dreher High School and the University of South Carolina. She was the only child of the late Dr. Louis S. Baer and Florence Melvin Baer. She was a member of the Centennial Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church for many years and taught in Richland Dist. 1 city schools for 20 years. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Harry D. DeLoach; son, Hank DeLoach (Pam) of Columbia; daughter, Rita Courson (Jimmy) of Cordele, GA; 4 grandchildren, Sallie Thomas & Chandler DeLoach, Amanda Conrad and Matthew Courson; she was surprised and delighted to welcome two great-grandsons Zack and Carter who has renewed a start of another generation. She also is survived by 2 cousins, Earl Fisher of Columbia and Howard Berghegger of Hendersonville, NC and several longtime friends.
