Obituary of SGM Melvin Robinson

COLUMBIA-A graveside service celebrating the life of SGM (Ret.) Melvin Robinson, Sr. 72, of Columbia will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with full military honors. On-line condolences may be sent to www.Greenlawn-Columbia.com. SGM Robinson departed this earthly life on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. He was born in Columbia, SC to the late Johnny W. Robinson and Jeanette Parker Williams. SGM Robinson retired from the United States Marine Corps and he was also employed with Blue Ribbon Cab Service. Surviving are his loving wife, Yong Yi Robinson; his daughters, Cassandra (Carlisle) Williams and Yong Yi Jeanette Belton; sons, Melvin (Belinda) Robinson, Jr., Jei Terrell Robinson, Johnny (Nicolette) Robinson, Terry Davis, and Muhammad Belton; a sister, Joan (Judge) Smallwood; a brother Alphonso Williams; aunt, Helen Jackson; sister-in-laws, Gloria, Bonnie, Yonhwa, Yongae, Yongwoo; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; a host of loving friends that will miss him dearly.
