Obituary of Bonnie L. Smalley

WEST COLUMBIA-Funeral service for Bonnie L. Smalley, 83, of West Columbia, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Reverend Helen Harrison will officiate. Entombment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brett Richardson, Craig Richardson, Kevin Marthers and Alan Cromer. Memorials may be made to Lexington Medical Center Foundation, 2720 Sunset Blvd, West Columbia, SC 29169 or to the American Liver Foundation, 88 Winchester Street, Newton, MA 02461 in memory of Bonnie L. Smalley. Mrs. Smalley died Thursday, October 24, 2013. Born in Callison, SC, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Robbie Lee Clark Luquire. She had been a local area resident for over 63 years. She was a member of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Greenwood High School. Mrs. Smalley loved going to Tri-City Leisure Senior Center, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her loving husband of 65 years, Wilborn Leon Smalley; daughters, Pat Richardson of Lexington and Cathy Marthers (Charlie) of West Columbia; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and special friend, Kenneth Richardson of Lexington. She was preceded in death by her sister, Juanita Fjerstad and brother, Bill Luquire.
