Obituary of Irene F. Libby

Prosperity—A graveside service for Irene F. Libby, 87, of Prosperity, SC will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Greenlawn Memorial Park located on Leesburg Road in Columbia, SC with the Reverend John Lopez officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 at Greenlawn Funeral Home located 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation, 1911 Barnwell Street, Columbia, SC 29201 or the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Mrs. Libby passed on October 27, 2013 at her home in Prosperity. Born on August 18, 1926 in Ashland, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Cecile Clark. She was a loving wife, beloved mother of 4, grandmother of 10, great-grandmother of 18, and great-great-grandmother of 3. Because of her love and devotion for her family and friends she will be sorely missed. Surviving are her two daughters, Valerie Libby Sligh and her husband, Billy of Columbia, Michelle Libby Godsey of Prosperity; her son, Loren Libby and his wife, Kathy of Spartanburg as well as her sister, Georgene Rafford of Ashland, Maine. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Lloyd E. Libby, daughter, Bonnie Libby Horton, brother, Wilson Clark and two sisters, Lillias Hammond Boykin and Gladys Wright.
