Obituary of Willie Stevens McDaniel

A graveside service celebrating the life of Willie Stevens McDaniel, 78, of Columbia will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013 in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday afternoon at Greenlawn Funeral Home. Mrs. McDaniel departed this earthly life on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. She was born in Conway, SC to the late Davis Willie Stevens and Edna Mae Chestnut Rheuark. Mrs. McDaniel retired from South Carolina Department of Corrections. Mrs. McDaniel was predeceased by her beloved sister, Laverne S. Cortright; brother, Dean Stevens; husband, Laverne R. McDaniel; and step-father, Vertis Rheuark who she took care of for many years. Those left to cherish her beautiful memories are her sons, Darrell L. McDaniel and Larry D. McDaniel (Chi-Sun); three grandchildren, Crystal L. Price, So-Hyung McDaniel, and Ha-Hyung McDaniel; three great-grandchildren, Gage, Maya, and Jena Berkowitz; special niece, Katrina Whitenack and her children, Ashley and Katelyn Kniphfer and other nieces and nephews and relatives who will miss her dearly
