Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Moore Hammond

LEXINGTON—M argaret Elizabeth Moore Hammond, 85, of Lexington, SC, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013. She was born June 1, 1928, in Anson County, NC to the late Ernest Whitaker Moore, Sr. and Isla May Davis Moore. She was predeceased by her husband A.E. (Ace) Hammond, Jr. and her brother, Ernest Whitaker (Whit) Moore, Jr. She is survived by her son, Rick Hammond and wife Shannon of Leesville, SC; daughter, Susan Hammond of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Will Hammond, Emily Hammond, Sara Hammond, Melissa McQuillin, and Neal Rister; and great grandson, Walker McQuillin. Mrs. Hammond was a retired court reporter with the South Carolina Family Court system and a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Lancaster, SC. A celebration of her life will be held at Cherokee Presbyterian Church in Gilbert, South Carolina at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15.
