Obituary of Jerry Wayne Donaldson

LEXINGTON—A memorial service for Jerry Wayne Donaldson, Sr., 68, of Lexington, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Willow Ridge Church. Pastor David Allen will officiate. The family will greet friends 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Mr. Donaldson, beloved husband of E. Marci Donaldson, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013. Born in Copperhill, TN, he was a son of Louise Painter Donaldson and the late Loyce Donaldson. He was a graduate of BC High School. He originally worked at Colite Industries, then Colonial Life in the Printing Dept. As a young man he was a member of the band called the "What Nots" and later in life was a member of the "Marathons". His love of music continued throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 or Willow Ridge Church General Fund, 104 Sycamore Tree Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 45 years, E. Marci Donaldson of Lexington; son, Jerry W. Donaldson, Jr. of Lexington; grandchildren, Faith Elizabeth Donaldson and Kayla Lynn Chavis; brother, Larry Donaldson of West Columbia and sisters, Brenda Nesbit (David) of Manning and Joyce Parrish (Johnny) of Murrels Inlet; daughter-in-law, Vonda Chavis of Pelion. He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Bryan Donaldson.
