Obituary of Vonnie N. Risinger

Vonnie Nell Jones Risinger, 76, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, Nov 30th 2013. Born in Hartsville, SC she was a daughter of the late Willie and Lucia Mae Jones. She was a retired employee of the SC Department of Mental Health. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all whom she loved very much. Her faith kept her strong and now she is with her Heavenly Father sitting at His feet. She is survived by four children, Ronda Miller (Randy) of Lexington, Brian Segars of Columbia, Ricky Segars of Hartsville and Ray Segars of Columbia; sisters, Lillie Mae Hancock of Hartsville, Oradell Dickson (Charlie) of Sumter, and Rachel Byerly of Harrisburg, NC; brother, Jimmie Jones of Summerton, SC; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry and Richard Jones. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209, with Pastor Phil Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park - Serenity Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service for one hour at the funeral home. Pallbearers will include Scott Byerly, Kevin Byerly, Charlie Dickson, Scott McLaurin, Larry Wayne Jones, Buddy Truett and Robbie Williams. The family would like to thank the staff at Tidewater Hospice; especially April Begunov & Martha McGaughey for the amazing care they gave momma.
