Obituary of Pattie D. Krell

LEXINGTON—Funeral services for Pattie D. Krell, 85, of Lexington, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church. Pastor Eric Friedrichs will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, Building on Holy Ground Fund, 3011 Leaphart Road, West Columbia, SC 29169. Mrs. Krell passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2013. Born in Chapin, she was a daughter of the late William "Bill" Derrick and Ruth Bickley Derrick. She was a longtime member of Mt. Herman Lutheran Church and the Young at Heart Sunday School Class and WELCA. She worked for Southern Bell and Bell South retiring after 39 years of devoted service and worked at Transco for over 20 years. Pattie sold AVON products for over 35 years and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Her family could always count on her for love and support. Surviving are her son, Randy Krell (Cherrie) of Lexington; four grandchildren, Brandon (Jill) and Keith Krell, John Soto (Shanna) and Justin Ricard (Nichole); six great-grandchildren, Selena, Sofie, Carson, Bishop, Ashlyn and Kolten; sister, Judy Price (Dwayne) of Leesville; brothers, Rothell Derrick, Pete Derrick and Azalee "Slick" Derrick; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack Derrick and Whitey Derrick.
