Obituary of MSG. Roger W. Doyon

A graveside service celebrating the life of MSG Roger W. Doyon (Ret., U.S. Army), 91, of Columbia will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2013 at Greenlawn Memorial Park with full military honors to follow. Reverend David Sturgeon of Temple Baptist Church will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church or to the Epworth Children's Home in Roger's memory. The family has entrusted Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 with the final arrangements. On-line condolences may be sent to www.thompsonsfuneral.com. MSG Doyon departed this earthly life on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. He was born in Manchester, NH to Daville and Emma Remilard Doyon. MSG Doyon retired from the United States Army after many years of dedicated service to our country. He was also a dedicated member of Temple Baptist Church. MSG Doyon was predeceased by his parents; his daughter, Betty Bellardine; a grandson, Christopher Charles Bellardine; and four siblings. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Edwina Wingate Doyon; two grandchildren, Joseph Bellardine and Linda Kay Hood; a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
