Obituary of Randell Scott Hickman

LEESVILLE—Funeral service for Randall Scott Hickman, 39, of Leesville, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Chaplain Steve Bateman, Reverend Irene Hickman Derrick and Evangelist John W. Hickman will officiate. Burial will follow in Olympia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his family and friends, Boogie, Calvin, Toby, Zach, Jason, Ashton, JD and Mikey. Honorary pallbearers will be his son and daughter, Joshua Hickman, Madison Hickman along with Jay, Josh and John. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Military Dependent Children of Fallen Soldier Relief Fund, PO Box 3968, Gaithersburg, MD 20885. Mr. Hickman passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013. Born in Lexington, he was the son of Mildred Yvonne Wright Owens and the late Leroy Allen Hickman, Sr. He was a lifelong area resident and a member of Christian Family Community Church. He was an employee of Pilgrim's Pride Corporation, NC. He loved sports, motorcycles and rode in several Poker Runs and Toys for Tots Runs. He proudly served his country as a SSG and Paratrooper for the United States Army. He was a great dad, brother and son, who loved his children and family. Surviving are his mother, Mildred Hickman Owens; daughter, Madison Hickman and son, Joshua Hickman; children's mother, Sherry Hickman; companion, Sara Dunn, her daughter, Cayce and grandson, Hunter; sister, Shannon Hutto (Joshua Kyzer); brother, Allen Hickman (Paige); and his childhood friend, Jason Mills; six nieces and nephews along with a number of cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Allen Hickman, Sr., step-father, Jim Owens and paternal grandparents, Talmadge and Ruth Hickman.
