Obituary of Harold Franklin Cook

LEXINGTON—Funeral services for Harold Franklin "Frankie" Cook, 61, of Lexington, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Olympia. Pastor Andrew Isenhower will officiate. Burial will follow in Olympia Cemetery with Masonic rites. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169 will be assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1127 Olympia Ave, Columbia, SC 29201. Mr. Cook, beloved husband of Rebecca Becknell Cook, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013. Born in Columbia and raised in the Olympia Mill Village, he was a son of the late Harry Wilson Cook and Grace Kelly Cook. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and loved his church family. He was involved with the Olympia Community, member of the Masonic Pacific Lodge #325 AFM and an avid Gamecock fan. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving in addition to his wife, Becky Becknell Cook of Lexington; children, Adam Franklin Cook of Columbia ; Caroline Cook Raley (Ryan) of Lexington; Dana Whitlock of Lexington, Jamison Whitlock (Melissa) of Lexington; Ryan Whitlock (Tabitha) of Holly Springs, NC,; grandchildren, Cooper Raley, Randy Metcalf, Zachary Whitlock, T.A. Whitlock, Taylor Metcalf, London Whitlock and Lucas Whitlock; brothers, Paul Drayton Cook (Debbie) of Lexington, Gene William Cook (Cathy) of Charleston and James Carroll Cook of Columbia; along with several nieces and nephews.
