Obituary of Wesley Preston Perdue

WEST COLUMBIA—Wesley Preston "Wes" Perdue, beloved husband of 24 years to Carla Marie Holton Perdue, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Born in Hopewell, VA, he was a son of Jesse James Perdue and Joann Carol Bates Perdue Coburn. "Wes" was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asked. Wes tackled anything that was put in front of him, no matter what it was. He loved to work with his hands; construction, wood working, welding, cars, and was an avid outdoorsman. Wes loved hunting and fishing; he also just loved to be with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know him. Surviving in addition to his wife, Carla M. Perdue, parents, Jesse Perdue and Joann Carol Coburn, step-father, Elmer V. Coburn, maternal grandfather, John P. Bates; children, Christopher Holton of Indiana, Ashley Perdue of Lexington, Dennis James Perdue of Indiana, Matthew Eric Perdue of Lexington; two grandchildren; sisters, Tabatha Marie Langsford (Philip) of Indiana, Angela Asbury (Gary) of Beckley, WVA, Amanda Coburn of Indiana, Tanya Washington of VA and Christine Graham(Aaron) of Indiana; brothers, Christopher James Perdue (Katherine) of Columbia and Bryan Coburn of FL; and mother-in-law, Helen Akridge of Wrens, GA; father-in-law, Henry Carlos Holton from Pelion, along with many loving nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at a later date. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169 is assisting the family.
