Obituary of Samuel Gerald Judy

SWANSEA—A Celebration of Life service for Samuel Gerald "Jerry" Judy, 50, of Swansea will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Gaston Civic Center, 131 North Carlisle Street, Gaston, SC 29053. Mr. DeWayne Braziel will officiate. The family will greet friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 20073. Mr. Judy passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014. Born in Richland County, he was a son of Robert D. Judy, Sr. and the late Thelma Joann Davis Judy. He was a loving father, son, nephew, brother, uncle, companion and a friend to many. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and cooking. He also loved watching football; his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He was employed at Budweiser of Columbia for 25 years. He will be loved and missed by many and he will remain in our hearts forever. Surviving in addition to his father, Robert D. Judy, Sr. of Gaston; daughter, Kassie Brianna Judy of Swansea; sons, Samuel Charles Dexter Judy of Swansea, John Elliott Hunter Judy of Swansea, Gage Davis Judy of Bryson City, NC; sisters, Donna Joann Lopez (Edwin) and Frances Vernell Terry (Hector Torres) all of Gaston; brothers, Robert Dexter Judy, Jr. (Angela Hayes) and John Leroy Judy (Robin Jackson) all of Gaston; companion, Brenda Hoffman; nieces and nephews, Eric Cunningham, Dakota Furtick, Landon Cunningham, Ray Terry, Robert Terry, Carson Judy, Bailey Judy, Ben Bryan, Taylor Judy, Tony Smith, Daytona Judy, Macy Smith, Blake Ellisor, Mackenzie Ellisor, Loren Fish, Thomas Fish and Andrew Stacey. He is also survived by many friends and extended family at Budweiser of Columbia.
