Obituary of Klaus Wilke

LEXINGTON-A funeral service celebrating the life of Klaus Wilke, 76, of Lexington, SC will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington Chapel, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073 with Pastor Mark Bredholt officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of SC in Klaus' memory, 508 Hampton Street, Ste. 200, Columbia, SC 29201. On-line condolences may be sent www.thompsonsfuneral.com Mr. Wilke departed this earthly life on Monday, January 27, 2014. He was born in Wuppertal, Germany to the late Karl and Erna Michel Wilke. Mr. Wilke was a member of The Loyal Order of Moose for over 35 years and he was also the owner and operator of McGregor Downs Mobile Home Park for many years in West Columbia, SC. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Rita Koerber Wilke; a daughter, Christine Wilke; a son, Klaus A. Wilke (Colette); three grandchildren, Pamela Gutierrez, Ryan Wilke, and Amanda Wilke; two great-grandchildren, Adan and Bryce Gutierrez; a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
