Praying that Jim's wife, family and friends will experience God's peace and comfort. Jim was as a true Christian gentleman... "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!' Matthew 25:21

Lynn,
I was so sadden to learn of Jim's passing. He was a pleasure to work at the Children's Trust Fund of SC during the times we were trying to build the organization back. I know without his devotion and dedication to the agency and its cause, the agency would have closed its doors probably before I even came to work there. He gave many more years than most as a dedicated board member and chairman. He will be remembered for his kindness and community leader.

I knew Jim well, both during his time at Newberry County and later when we worked together at Intertec. We saw each other several times after that, and I wish we had stayed in closer contact. Lynn, I am so sorry for your loss. It was quite a shock when I saw the notice in the newspaper. He was a kind and intelligent man, and I know you and all of his friends will miss him.

Lynn, Mike & Susan,
Deb and i are so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We are sure that no words we say can console the grief of this loss to your families, however, we thought Jim was an outstanding individual, a true credit to his family and our community and a friend. Jimmy was always kind to others and everyone loved him. Lynn, I will be praying for the entire family for weeks to come. Rest in The Lord for He alone will walk with you through this. At my father's funeral the Pastor said to my mother, sister, brother and me: "Speak his name and speak it often, do not whisper it but speak it loudly." We went home that very afternoon and sat on their bed. Each of us had stories of times alone with him that the others did not know, things said that made us say "DAD said THAT?"...there were lots of tears, and finally laughter. We all learned things we did not know, but I believe it was the beginning of our healing. If you and your children decide to do this , I pray you, too will find some comfort as did we in this. No one had to worry about upsetting the other by saying his name! God has Jim's spirit now and he is well. Now He has you all as well! May he comfort you all and bless you with His grace! In Christ Love, Peggy and Bill Zeigler

I am sorry to hear of your loss. Death is an enemy, It is especially an enemy when it strike someone dear to us. God is more powerful than death and he promise to get rid of this enemy once and for all. The Bible teaches; "And the last enemy, death, will be brought to nothing." (1Corinthians 15;26) Then John 5;28,29 will be fulfilled that reads: "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all that are in the graves shall hear his voice and come out." I hope this message will offer some comfort in your time of sadness.

Dear Lynn, Mrs. Sue, Mike & Linda, and Susan & Bill,
We were shocked and saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Cal & I and my Mom (Ruby) and brothers Rod & Ben extend our sincere sympathy. Jim was always a gentleman and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. He was an important part of the 1966 BC Championship Football Team. Daddy was always so proud of that team -- he loved them each and everyone. Please know that you are all in our prayers, may God comfort and sustain you with His steadfast love, and give you His peace.
Yours in Christ, Cal & Lora (Herlong) Atwood, Ruby Herlong, Rod Herlong, and Ben Herlong
