Obituary of Valorie Burrows

ELGIN—Funeral services for Mrs. Valorie Burrows, 66, of Elgin, will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, February 10, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Reverend Wendell Hendrix will officiate. Burial will follow in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the funeral home. Mrs. Burrows, beloved wife of Joe Burrows, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, born in Olanta, SC; she was the daughter of Raymond L. Caulder and Anna Boyd Welch Caulder. She had worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield as well as the Providence Hospital in the area of Medical Billing. Mrs. Burrows and family had formerly attended Dentsville Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmothers and great-grandmother. Surviving in addition to her loving husband of 47 years, Joe Burrows of Elgin; daughter, Anna "Sissy" Burrows of Elgin; sons, Joey Burrows of Anderson and Shane Burrows and wife, Jessica of Elgin; grandchildren, Cody and Brooke Gratham, Ansley, Cali and Dalton McManus and Alaina, Gage and Brittany Burrows; great-grandchildren, Carson Grantham and Jaxon Caywood; sisters, Betty McDuffie (Fletcher) of Columbia, Martha Thomas (Bill) of Manning; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Those who preceded her in death are sisters, Barbara Jean Caulder, Janie M. Caulder and brother, Raymond N. Caulder.
