Obituary of Margie Calvitt Woods

LEXINGTON—Funeral services for Margie Calvitt Woods, 90, of Lexington, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 10, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Reverend Steve Allen and Reverend Dan Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Woods, beloved wife of the late Albert Warren Woods, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014. Born in Norway, she was a daughter of the late Percy McCree Calvitt and Polly Ann Onley Calvitt. She was a devoted member of Northside Baptist Church. Margie retired after many years of service from Ag First Bank. Surviving are her sons, Warren Woods (Coletta) of West Columbia and Robert E. Woods (Kay) of Lexington; daughter-in-law, Gwen Woods; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Annie Lou Morgan of North and Emma Calvitt of Norway; brothers, Samuel Calvitt of Columbia and Palmer Calvitt of Walhalla. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Samuel D. Woods; sisters, Alice Morgan, Nina Sharpe, Mary Hamilton and Martha Calvitt; brothers, Claude Calvitt and J.R. Calvitt.
