Obituary of Nell Mae Alsup

COLUMBIA—A graveside service for Nell Mae Alsup, 104 years of age, of Columbia, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Alsup, beloved wife of the late Olan Alsup, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2014. Born in Hot Springs, AR, she was a daughter of the late Gus Oxford and Willie Adell Davis Oxford Heskett. She was a dedicated nurse and caregiver. She had a very special personality and was always young at heart. Surviving are her son, Thomas Alsup and daughter-in-law, Martha Alsup of Columbia; grandchildren, Matthew Alsup (April) of Irmo, Patrick Alsup (Kelly) of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Alexa, Ava and Ethan Alsup; brothers, Joe Heskett of Stockton, CA, Andy Heskett of Hannibal, MO; special friends, Irma Rodriguez and Dana Bailey. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Darce Gregory and Sarah Clements; four brothers, Dalton Oxford, Raymond Oxford, Leon Heskett and Phillip Heskett.
