Obituary of Ronny Lewis Kimbrell

Ronny Lewis Kimbrell, 66, of Columbia, entered into rest March 19, 2014 at Lexington Medical Center. Born November 23, 1947 in Spartanburg, Co he was a son of the late Lewis Benjamin and Bertha Irene (Gilbert) Kimbrell. Mr. Kimbrell was employed with the SC Commission for the Blind for more than 20 years. He enjoyed visiting the Out of Sight online forum and prior to losing his eyesight completely, Mr. Kimbrell was an avid hunter, fisherman and traveler. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kimbrell was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother. Mr. Kimbrell is survived by a niece Loi Parsons; nephew, Michael Gilbert; a close friend Olivia B. Gartrell; as well as many other close friends. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2012, at 2:00 P.M., at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, beginning at 1:00 P.M.
