Obituary of Marie V. Moore Schiller

LEXINGTON—Funeral services for Marie V. Moore Schiller, 68, of Lexington, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Lexington, 415 Barr Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Pastor Ralph Schneck will officiate. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Garris Matthews, Brent Johnson, Mike Smith, Stan Silver, Wayne Steele, Greg Paxton and Joshua Otto. The family will greet friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Mrs. Schiller, beloved wife of 50 years to Pastor Bennett Schiller, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014. Born in Durham, NC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Samuel Moore and Meta Francis Pannal Moore and was predeceased by her daughter, Sonya Marie Jarvis. She graduated from Cosmetology School in 1966 and was licensed in Georgia and Texas. She retired from J.B. Whites, where she worked as a hairdresser. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lexington for 23 years and was a great supporter of her husband ministries, Life/Home Groups. She was a member of the Choir and served in Young at Heart. She was also involved several other ministries. Surviving in addition to her husband, Pastor Bennett Schiller of Lexington; son, Bennett J. Schiller III (Karoline) of Beaufort; son-in-law, Paul Jarvis (Tracey) of Lexington; grandchildren, Jason, Kristie, Melanie, Matthew, Andrew, Jessica, Christina and Patrick; two great-grandchildren; brother, Joel Moore of Savannah, GA; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
