Obituary of Flora Ellen Tewksbury

COLUMBIA-A funeral service celebrating the life of Flora Ellen Tewksbury, 79, of Columbia will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 with Reverend Christopher Burger officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Tewksbury departed this earthly life on Thursday, March 27, 2014. She was born in Dillon, SC to Jim Miller and Blanche Brigman Miller. Mrs. Tewksbury was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She retired from the Federal Housing Authority after 25 years of dedicated service. She was also the former President of the union. Mrs. Tewksbury was predeceased by her parents and three siblings. Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Guy Tewksbury; a daughter, Paganne Joye; a sister, Agnes Hardwich; one granddaughter; a loving dog of 18 years, Bitsy; a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
