Obituary of David L. Key

WEST COLUMBIA-Graveside service for David L. "Bigbird" Key, 61, of West Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 with Masonic rites in Woodridge Memorial Park, 130 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. Pastor James Kight will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Pallbearers will be the Lexington Masonic Lodge #152 Brothers. David passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Born February 19, 1953 in Greenwood, SC, he was the son of the late Fred Herman and Betty Mitchell Key. David, fondly known as "Bigbird" was an active member of Lexington Masonic Lodge #152, having served as Past Master and Treasurer. He was also an avid Gamecock sports fan. The love of his life was his daughter, Lindsey, who was his "baby girl". Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Libby Hull Key; daughter, Lindsey Key; and sister, Pam Bain (Richard) of Greenwood.
