Obituary of Helen Brown Rector

Helen Brown Rector, 89, of Columbia, SC passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Agape Hospice House. Born August 4, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Realis and Bertha (Widson) Brown. Helen was a long time member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 642, and enjoyed spending her Friday evenings dancing with friends at the VFW. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Floyd L. Rector and her son Floyd E. Rector. Mrs. Rector is survived by her grandsons, Randy E. Rector, Rusty L. Rector; daughter-in-law Georgia C. Rector; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 P.M., on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
