Obituary of Billie Goodwin

CAYCE—Billie Goodwin, Jr., 55, a South Carolina native and longtime resident of Cayce, passed away on Monday after a long illness. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Billie Goodwin, Sr. and Margaret McLemore Martin. Mr. Goodwin was a graduate of Airport High School and retired from the Circle K Corporation. He is survived by his sisters, Deborah Barfield of Lexington and Sarah Garcia of Elgin; brother-in-law, Danny Barfield; nieces, Stacie Guillen and Kristy Escoto both of Elgin; nephews, Brian Sharpe of Bishopville and Justin Howard of Elgin; four great-nephews and one great niece. He was preceded in death by his beloved companion, Kay Dunn. A memorial service for Mr. Goodwin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at Good News Holiness Church in South Congaree. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SC American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312, in honor of their loved ones.
