Obituary of Mary Wallace Page

Hopkins, SC—Mary Wallace Page, 95, of Hopkins entered into rest, on her birthday Monday, April 14, 2014 at Lexington Medical Center. Born April 14, 1919 in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Anna Belle (Watts) Wallace. A life member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Hopkins, Mrs. Page was employed by Horsman Doll Factory from the time that it opened in Columbia until its closing. Mary was the widow of Rev. August A. Page, with whom she shared a devoted and blessed union of more than 30 years. Mrs. Page particularly enjoyed spending time with her husband, serving in various ministries, during his tenure as they traveled from church to church throughout the state of South Carolina. She is survived by her children, August A. Page, Jr., Conchetta DeLoache (Bob), Anita Couch (Hank) and daughter-in-law, Betty Page; sister, Marian Massalou; grandchildren, Christina Shealy (Andy), Andrew Couch (Gloria), Michelle Craddock (Nathan), Jacqueline Mouzon (Jon), English Tuttle (Jim), Tommy Page (Brenda), Kelli Watson (Nick) and Allison Page; 14 great grandchildren with another due in August, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Page was preceded in death by her son, Thomas (Tom) Page; infant daughter, Mary Ann Page; sisters, Anna Belle Wallace and Louise LaSchuma; and brothers, Buck and John Wallace. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 5601 Old Leesburg Road, Hopkins, SC 29061, with Pastor Kenn Busbee and Reverend Joe Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ER nursing staff at Lexington Medical Center for the compassion and care they provided Mrs. Page and her family. The family would especially like to thank Kim for her kindness and dedication. Memorial Contributions may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
