Obituary of John Maguire Easterling

COLUMBIA-A memorial service to celebrate the life of John Maguire Easterling of Columbia will held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073 with Reverend David Whitman officiating. John left this life on Sunday, April 20, 2014. Born December 5, 1960 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of Charles M. and Doris Fanning Easterling. He was employed for 18 years with Westinghouse, and was an avid Gamecock fan. John was born with a loving and generous heart. He lived life to the fullest, never meeting a stranger, with no worries for tomorrow. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, his sons, John M. Easterling, Jr. of Columbia and David Easterling (Megan) of West Columbia; one granddaughter, Lily Easterling of West Columbia; sisters, Denise Easterling of Irmo and Patti King (Michael) of Pineville, NC; brother, Chuck Easterling (Cortney) of Greenville; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends after the service. Interment will follow at a later date.
