Obituary of Gregory Dean Walters

LEXINGTON—A graveside service for Gregory Dean Walters, Sr. 57, of Lexington, was held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2014 at Woodridge Memorial Park. Mr. Walters passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Gene A. Walters and Anne Jeanette Parke Walters. Mr. Walters attended Revolution Worship Center and was a graduate of Airport High School, where he played football for the Eagles. He attended Midlands Technical College, where he studied Electrical Engineering. Greg was the maintenance Engineer for the Palmetto Center. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Liliane, Lisa and the entire Amedisys Hospice Staff. Surviving is his loving wife of 42 years, Wanda Davis Walters of Lexington; son, Gregory Dean "Skibo" Walters, Jr. and wife Angela of Lexington; grandchildren, Joshua Brown, Alex Brown, Gavin Brown, Lauren Walters and Brandon Walters; sister, Viki Golightly and husband Dale of West Columbia; brothers, Don Walters and wife Marie of Rockport, NY and Steve Walters of Lexington, SC. Those who preceded him in death were his daughter, Sherry Walters Brown and sister, Kathy Walters Gainey.
