Obituary of Lindis Rudolph Burnett

A funeral service celebrating the life of Lindis Rudolph "Rudy" Burnett, 83, of West Columbia, SC will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 1000 "B" Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29169 with interment to follow in the church cemetery with Pastor Wade Roof, III officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. Thursday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Mr. Burnett peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. He was born in Columbia, SC to William Shuford Burnett and Lore Dreher Burnett. Rudy retired from Swift Agricultural Chemicals as a Sales Manager after many years of dedicated services. He was also a former West Columbia City Councilman for 16 years. Mr. Burnett was predeceased by his parents; his three brothers, Alton Burnett, Jack Burnett, and William Burnett. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Pam Gayden Burnett; children, Katherine Elizabeth "DeeDee" Matthews (Joel), Linda Anne Burnett Shull, Rudy Michael Burnett (Michelle), Marjorie Lynn Williams (Derwin), Michelle Allen, Deidra Huckabee (Sal), and Heather Wilson (Dan); 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
