Obituary of Jackie E. Collins

CAYCE—Funeral services for Mr. Jackie E. Collins, 72, of Cayce, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Pilgram's Way Baptist Church, 6081 Old Leesburg Road, Hopkins, SC 29061. Pastor Peggy Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. Mr. Collins, beloved husband of Mickey Charline Collins, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Sam and Geneva Pauline Collins. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, serving in action in Vietnam. Mr. Collins loved the Lord and his wish is for all the ones that don't know Christ to seek him. He was a member of Pilgram's Way Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. Surviving are his wife, Mickey Charline Collins of Cayce; children, Tammy L. Smith, Paula B. Bonnette (Ryan), Edward D. Collins (Angela), Tammy A. Harrington, Brenda H. James and Melissa A. Heard (William); 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Williams, Myrtle Bass and Betty Anderson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pilgram's Way Baptist Church, Building Fund, 6081 Old Leesburg Road, Hopkins, SC 29061.
