Obituary of Clayton W. Sightler

LEXINGTON—Funeral services for Clayton Woodrow Sightler, Sr., 77, of Lexington will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Chaplain Jim McMillan will officiate. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29204. Mr. Sightler, beloved husband for 34 years to Elizabeth Ann Finney Sightler, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Born in Lexington County, he was a son of the late Ellerbee H. Sightler and Gertrude Sharpe Sightler. Surviving is his wife, Elizabeth Ann Sightler of Lexington; children, Johnny Knight of Lexington, Kathryn Stone (Carl) of Lexington, Carolyn Compton of Prosperity, Anita Ware of Prosperity, Clayton Sightler, Jr. (Lydia Zeagler) of Lexington, John Finney of Lexington and Ruby Ann Fry (Lester) of Gaston; 14 grandchildren and a large and loving extended family; also survived by his loving dog, Fluffy. He was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters and three sons. A special thanks to Regency Hospice for their excellent care and especially Angie Graham who provided comfort, compassion, dignity and peace to Mr. Sightler and his family at a time when they needed it the most. Ms. Graham was a blessing sent to us by God to help us through this journey.
