Obituary of MSG Pete Radakovich

A funeral service celebrating the life of MSG (Ret.) Pete Radakovich, 86, of Columbia will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 with Reverend Robert Ward officiating. Full military honors and entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the hour of the service at the funeral home. MSG Radakovich departed this earthly life on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Dorn VA Warriors Walk. He was born in Hiawatha, Utah to Lubomir Eli Radakovich and Annie Vogrinec Radakovich. MSG Radakovich retired from the United States Army after 20 years of dedicated service to our country. After retirement from the United States Army, he was employed with the United States Postal Service in which he retired from after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a member of East Columbia Pentecostal Holiness Church. MSG Radakovich was predeceased by his parents, and his wife, Waltraud "Sue" Radakovich. Those left to cherish his legacy are his daughters, Sheila Hemingway (Corwin, Sr.) and Brenda Hinson; a son, Michael Radakovich (Erika Aoki); a sister, Millie R. Fox; eight grandchildren, Heidi Coan, Steven Radakovich, Corwin Hemingway II, Kyrell Hemingway, Kendale Hemingway, Keldon Hemingway, Matthew Hinson, and Luke Hinson; four great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, other loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
