Obituary of Natilee Player Floyd

CAYCE—Funeral services for Natilee Player Floyd, 91, of Cayce, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014 at State Street Baptist Church, 1420 State Street, Cayce, SC 29033. Dr. Tommy Pillow will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mark Player, Sr., Edwin Player, Earl Aughtry, Jason Barrs, Ben Barrs and Ken Walters. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. Mrs. Floyd, beloved wife of 47 years to the late, Howard Ellie Floyd, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Born in Turbeville, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Levi Player and Mary Estelle Mellette Player. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of State Street Baptist Church since 1964. Natilee earned her BS degree in Nursing from USC. She retired from State Hospital after 20 years of service and retired a second time from Still Hopes. She was a member of the Ladies Postal Auxiliary, WMU, Olympia Alumni Association, M&M Circle and the Joy Sunday School Class. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are her daughter, Fran Floyd Reed (George) of Cayce; sons, Wayne Floyd (Sheila) of Lexington and Terry Floyd (Karen) of Columbia; grandchildren, DeAna, Shannon, Sarah, Elizabeth, Emily, Harrison and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Audrey, Colin, Ava and Reed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Ellie Floyd; five sisters, Bessie Player Hyatt, Nita Weaver, Marian Walters, Ruby Player Corley Williams, Eleanor Aughtry and two brothers, John Player and Otis Player.
