Obituary of Eddie Sheppard

WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Eddie Sheppard, 85, of West Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Preachers Jon Macon and Jerry Manning will officiate. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the funeral home. Mr. Sheppard, beloved husband of 59 years to Doris D. Weeks Sheppard, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014. Born in Trenton, FL, he was a son of the late Ebby Sheppard and Ella Rucker Sheppard. He was a member of the Church of Christ for over 59 years. He was also a member of the local VFW and DAV. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and dog-running of fox and deer. He just loved being outdoors. Surviving are his wife, Doris D. Sheppard; sons, Robbie E. Sheppard (Phyllis), Kenneth E. Sheppard (Regina) and Richard M. Sheppard; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; sister, Minnie Lee Boyette; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Sheppard was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack "Bob" Sheppard.
