Obituary of Judith Whidden Walker

CAYCE-Graveside service for Judith Whidden Walker, 69, of Cayce, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Elmwood Cemetery and Gardens, 501 Elmwood Ave, Columbia, SC 29201. Pastor Timothy James Bolen will officiate. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169 is assisting the family. Mrs. Walker passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014. Born in Miami, FL on October 7, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Grover and Mary Went Whidden. She was an active member of West Columbia Church of Christ. She was raised in Orlando, Florida, attended Western Carolina University and worked at State Farm Insurance for over 40 years. She is survived by her son, William S. Walker, III (Beth) of West Columbia; brothers, Carl Whidden of Orlando, FL and Michael Whidden (Jeanette) of Ft. Myers, FL; also survived by a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband William S. Walker, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Columbia Church of Christ, 1701 Augusta Road, West Columbia, SC 29169 or the charity of one's choice.
