Obituary of Jason Matthew Martin

A funeral service celebrating the life of Jason Matthew Martin, 35, of Cayce will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at State Street Baptist Church, 1420 State Street, Cayce, SC 29033 with Dr. Tommy Pillow officiating. Interment will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. He was born in Columbia, SC to Donald W. Martin and Sharon Snelgrove Martin. Jason was employed with ACE Hardware Stores and formerly employed with Palmetto Health Richland Hospital. He was also a member of State Street Baptist Church and a volunteer with Camp Kemo. Jason was predeceased by his father, Donald W. Martin; and his grandparents, William E. Snelgrove, James Roy Martin, and Dorothy Crawford. Those left to cherish his fond memories are his loving mother, Sharon S. Martin; his step-mother, Stephanie Martin; his step-father, Robert Christian; a sister, Christa Martin; a step-sister, Cathi Seyle (Ricky); a brother, Aaron Martin; his maternal grandmother, Edna R. Snelgrove; two uncles, Jeff Snelgrove (Kim) and Norman Eli Snelgrove (Pam); an aunt, Peggy Lynn Snelgrove; four cousins, Amber, Anna, and Sam Snelgrove, and Katrina Thompson; and a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
